Mammography in the Media (‘MeMa’) (completed)
In this project, we are investigating what role the mass media could play in the development of action-guiding ideas about breast cancer and the decision for or against participation in the mammography screening programme. In order to be able to assess this, a differentiated description and analysis of media reporting is fundamental. The focus of the project is the implementation of a standardised media content analysis on the topic of early detection of breast cancer in the press. The project is being carried out - partly as part of a master's seminar - in co-operation with the Faculty of Health Sciences at Bielefeld University.
