OnkoRisk NET
The OnkoRisk NET project, in cooperation with Hannover Medical School (MHH), Dresden University Hospital and the Institute for Applied Health Services Research (inav), is investigating the use of telemedical human genetic counselling for patients and families with a genetic tumour risk syndrome. The central question of the project is whether this new form of care, which is associated with easier digital access to genetic diagnostics and counselling, can achieve an improvement in care compared to current regular care. The Hanover Center for Health Communication [HC]² is focusing in particular on the factors that influence the intention to use telemedical counselling and the experience of this and its outcome. This includes usage and channel-specific factors (e.g. expectation of benefits, technical understanding), competence and resource-specific factors (e.g. digital health competence) and health-specific factors (e.g. interest in information, risk perception).
