Framing Mental Health (completed)

The prevention of mental illness is one of the most pressing challenges facing the healthcare system. As a cooperation partner of the ‘Die Pfalz macht sich/dich stark - Wege zur Resilienz’ initiative, an interdisciplinary consortium is investigating the question of how mental health care in the Palatinate can be sustainably improved. The aim is to strengthen resilience as a resistance or ability to cope well with changes, ups and downs in life. The initiative takes a socio-ecological approach that pursues prevention not only at an individual level, but also in the private setting, at an organisational level in the world of work and at a municipal level. An important component of the initiative is a communication approach that aims to initiate a new understanding of mental health at various levels as part of a systematic re-framing process. The framing project is being realised in cooperation with the FrameWorks Institute, a US research institute. The initiative was founded by the Managing Director of the Pfalzklinikum, Paul Bomke, and is coordinated at the Pfalzklinikum.
