With the programme ‘Die Ernährungs-Docs’ [Nutrition Docs], NDR launched a very successful format in July 2016 that provides information and tips on nutritional issues in a wide variety of media formats. The programme combines documentary, advice and docu-soap elements and focuses on the stories of individual patients suffering from a wide range of illnesses and complaints. They are advised and accompanied by three doctors specialising in nutrition.

The cooperation project with the NDR media research department aims to use an online survey of users of the ‘Die Ernährungs-Docs’ format to determine which characteristics of the format make it so successful, which groups of people can be addressed particularly well and through which offers. It is also investigating what the potential for communication looks like and how it should be evaluated.
