Information behaviour and well-being in times of the corona pandemic (completed)
The spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the associated legal restrictions have fundamentally changed the everyday lives of many people. In a current research project, we are therefore investigating the extent to which people's information behaviour has changed as a result of the pandemic and what impact individual communication behaviour has on mental well-being. The focus here is on searching for, avoiding and dealing with information disseminated by the media on the topic of coronavirus as well as interpersonal communication in general and on the topic of coronavirus.
In April 2020, 21 qualitative interviews were conducted to investigate the above-mentioned dimensions in greater depth. In a next step, these will be comprehensively analysed as part of a qualitative content analysis.
