Non-users of the women's and men's health portal: An analysis of gender-specific information needs and barriers to the use of health information (completed)
One of the greatest challenges in health communication lies in reaching those population groups that have little interest in health information, do not actively seek it out and do not feel addressed or sufficiently addressed by the existing offers - even if they are aware of them - or try to prevent contact with certain messages. Although it is known that the non-use and avoidance of health information is an everyday behaviour, little is known about the motives and barriers to use that cause such behaviour and who is among the non-users.
From a gender-specific perspective, the project therefore aims to contribute to a better understanding of corresponding forms of information behaviour and to find out how gender-specific information and health promotion needs can be better addressed in the future.
